Rivers Edge Dance Wear

In this story told without words, a free-spirited little boy comes dancing through a small town wearing nothing but a smile. Like a miniature Pied Piper he entices the children, one-by-one, to slip unnoticed from the world of adults, shed their clothes and dance with him until they reach the edge of town and can follow him no longer. Ron Himler's gentle and lovingly-rendered water colors have a timeless quality that captures the innocence and exuberance of childhood. Young children, will relate to the spontaneous glee of the Dancing Boy, and at the same time be reminded that joy can co-exist with boundaries.

Can-do girls. Inquisitive girls. Clara and her friend Miriam need to know what happens on the other side of the lake where Clara's father rows every morning. And what goes on down river. And what happens beyond the ocean's breakers. And, finally, how to reach the golden point where gleaming ocean and sun-brushed sky meet. Even when Miriam finds a new home -- and satisfaction -- Clara wants to go on, to a place "that will make my spirit dance." She turns to an old soldier who has been everywhere. Clara's urgent longing finds a match in the sailor's mysterious, but knowing, intrigue. Soft paintings throughout are as full of wonder as the text. They capture the pastoral and the world of watery edges, the secure and the vastly unknown beyond.
